All societies, secular or religious, have their God, or Gods. Implicit in doing anything with a specific aim in mind is a value system. By aiming to do it, we've set out that there is more value in achieving the goal than not. Human communities involve numerous activities, each with their own goals and aims. People will vary in their skill level across all goals. Someone will be the best at each one. But what about the ideal person who's best at all of them? That's God.
